Florida Freshwater Turtle Portraits

Florida has more species of turtles than other states. Of the 26 types of turtle species found in Florida, eighteen of them are freshwater species.

The following portraits illustrate some of their remarkable diversity. While these individuals represent only a fraction of the species that make the Rainbow River their home, it is magical to be able to see them so close up and personal!
